Going to Mix07!

MIX07 is Microsoft’s conference about its current and future directions on the Web. It is on in Las Vegas from April 30th to May 2nd.

Kris Hoet, Marketing Manager with Microsoft EMEA contacted me the other day to say he had four invitations for European bloggers to go to the conference, (almost)* all expenses paid, and did I want to go.

After giving it a lot of thought and consideration for at least half a second, I said “Absolutely Kris, I’d love to go!” I’m flying out on the 28th and back on the 4th so I’ll miss ShareIT. Again. Sorry Damien 🙁

The other three bloggers being brought by Microsoft are Frédéric Cavazza, Antonio Ortiz, and Robert Basic from France, Spain and Germany respectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with some of Microsoft’s best and brightest (and no, that’s not an oxymoron – despite what you’d think from using many of their products, there really are some super smart people working for Microsoft).

Walter (Higgins) called me yesterday to tell me he’s going to the conference as well so there’ll be at least two Cork reps there! We’ll have to wear our PRoC t-shirts Walter!

And Steve Clayton told me he’s organising a UK and Ireland MIX07 group so we’ll have to have at least one night out (show the Americans how to have fun!).

Anyone else going who’d like to meet up?

*Almost all expenses paid because I have to make my own way to Heathrow, after that it is all expenses paid.

  1. Can’t believe they’re making you pay for your flight to Heathrow! 😉

EI and Microsoft Ireland should get together to get more startups to use MS technology whilst learning what the future holds from an MS perspective.
