PocketPCThoughts has an excellent article tracing the steady decline of Palm’s OS over the last five years. Most of the diminution seems to be attributed to PalmSource’s failure to produce the long-promised version 6 of the Palm OS.
This failure coupled with OS 5’s inadequacies led inevitably to palm looking elsewhere for an OS supplier – hence the new Windows based Palm Treo 700w and the death of the Palm OS. Shame.
