Rick and Shel want to meet you!

I received an email yesterday from Shel Israel regarding his forthcoming road trip to Europe with Rick Segal.

Shel asked me who he should meet in Ireland. I said, “why don’t I post it on my blog?”

“Great!” he said.

So, Shel and Rick are

looking for people with great ideas who can help us see how tech entrepreneurialism will evolve in Ireland over the next few years.

Given that Rick is a VC and Shel is a business consultant, anyone with a new business or new business idea should be keen to meet them.

If you would like to meet up with them, either leave a comment on this post, or drop me an email at tom@tomrafteryit.net and I’ll pass on your interest.

UPDATE – Unfortunately I will be away when Rick and Shel are visiting Ireland but Pat Phelan of Roam4Free has kindly stepped up to the plate and is holding a blogger/VC dinner in the Taste of Thai restaurant on September 9th at 6:30pm. Rick and Shel will be there and are hoping to meet lots of interesting Irish people there too. If you are interested in meeting them, I’d advise you to go along.

  1. I’m crushed. No one seems to want to meet with us. Rick is a Canadian VC and I’m working on my new book called “Global Neighborhoods. Ireland will be the next-to-last stop on our round-the-world tour which begins in Japan on Aug. 11. We are looking for people with good ideas about tech and what’s going to happen over the next few years. We will be in Cork on Sept 9 only and Pat Phelan over at Roam4Free is throwing a blogger dinner at 6:30 pm at Taste of Thailand. But we will be around from noon on and we’d loved to chat with anyone about tech in Ireland. We are not looking for pitches and will summarily execute anyone bring PowerPoint slides along. But we are eager to have interesting conversations with interesting people. You can contact me at shel@itseemstome.net.

  2. Would you be ok with people turning up just for the interesting conversations?

I don’t have a business idea and I am not a brillant tech mind I’m afraid.

  3. I will definitely try to make it to the blogger dinner. I will be in Brighton (at dconstruct 2006) the day before so it depends on what time I can fly back. Looking forward to meeting Shel (again) and Rick.

  4. Looking forward to it Shel. I recently joined the advisory board of a Boston-based startup and I think you’ll be interested in the transatlantic story of how the product came about.

  5. My main concern is that you can’t guarantee every page of your website will be included in the SERPs. Considering I’m constantly adding new products to my company’s website, I need to be sure that customers can find them as soon as possible.http://www.seoptimizerz.com
