Introducing Enrique Raftery Carnicero

Enrique Raftery Carnicero

This is our new son Enrique Raftery Carnicero. Born on Tuesday morning May 23rd at 06:43 weighing 6lb 10oz (3.01kg). Welcome to the world little Enrique and please sleep a little better/more than your older brother Tomás!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes – Pilar and Enrique are coming home this morning.

For anyone who is interested there are more pics over on Flickr

Edited to correct the time of birth after Donagh Kiernan pointed out in the comments that I mis-typed it!

  1. Fabalous photos Tom

Technicality: Is the time of birth correct at 7:43 – because your blog post annoucing Enrique’s birth was at 7:27

But maybe you were posting early

  2. I’m sucker for baby photos. Enrique is beautiful and tell his mother that she looks fantastic.

  3. Congrats to you both. Great photos. 🙂

  4. Tom,
Congratulations. So happy for all of you. Like Damien said, I’m also a sucker for baby photos. Thank you for sharing. Joy and love to the family.

  5. And he’s already got more hair than you

Donagh… I think the server is running an hour behind.

Well done Tom. Lovely looking baby. All the best on the sleep front….

  7. Congrats Tom and mum 🙂

  8. […] First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for all the supportive comments and posts on the whole IT@Cork Web 2.0 conference vs. CMP/O’Reilly’s legal dogs. I’d love to respond to everyone but as my son Enrique was born on Tuesday morning, I don’t have as much time to devote to this as I should. […]

  9. […] BTW This fight is dedicated to Enrique Raftery – who was born THIS TUESDAY! Just as the Irish people had to fight the Brits for their rights to exist, so will we be fighting for Enrique’s dad’s rights.  […]

  10. Whoops, I had missed that one. Congratulations Tom!

  11. Thanks everyone – as it happens Donagh is absolutely correct, Enrique was born at 06:43 on Tuesday morning – a mis-type on my part. Put it down to lack of sleep!

  12. […] Not too long after the birth of Enrique Raftery Carnicero, Tom Raftery (and the rest of his fellow IT@Cork committee members) received a cease and desist order from CMP Media LLC suggesting that the title of the upcoming IT@Cork Conference, the Web 2.0 Half-Day Conference, was in “flagrant violation” of their “Web 2.0″ trademark. The following is an excerpt from an article that I published on MacMerc.com earlier today: IT@Cork, a non-profit organization based in Cork, Ireland, will be presenting a Web 2.0 Half Day Conference on June 8th, 2006. According to CMP, IT@Cork’s usage of “Web 2.0″ in their conference’s title “directly violates [CMP’s] exclusive rights” and “can only be viewed as a deliberate attempt to trade off the good will of CMP and cause confusion in the market.” […]

  13. […] And, Tom announced the birth of Enrique Raftery Carnicero. Add to: Filed under: Blogs […]

  14. […] First of all – apologies for the lack of a podcast last week but other events had me distracted! […]

  15. Congratulations Tom, I know we could have tried for the same day but still pretty close 😀

  16. Wow, he’s gorgeous!!! I especially like the flickr picture of you holding him, and your wife looks so estatic. If I had just been in Cork a couple of weeks later, I might have gotten to see him…ah well, if wishes were horses, we’d all be eating steak! I hope you’re all doing well, and that Tomas is enjoying his new little brother! Yours, Charleen

  17. […] Our newborn, Enrique, was sleeping very well the first couple of weeks, waking only once a night to be fed. But the last couple of nights he has been waking three times a night to be fed – ouch! […]

  18. […] What with the new baby and all, I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it along. I’ll have to see if I can get permission to abandon the homestead. […]
