WordPress updated to 2.0.4

WordPress was updated to version 2.0.4 over the weekend.

This release contains several important security fixes, so it’s highly recommended for all users. We’ve also rolled in a number of bug fixes (over 50!), so it’s a pretty solid release across the board.

WordPress 2.0.4 is available for download here.

  1. Hi Tom,

You mentioned in your post on formatting permalinks for SEO that wordpress won’t allow you to just use /%postname%/ without preventing access to your awstats.

I’ve had the same problem, and was hoping that the new version of wordpress would have that fixed, but I’ve upgraded and it’s still a problem.

I was wondering if you’ve found any solutions to it (other than the one you mentioned last year – change the permalink format, check your stats, then change back)?

    Thanks

  2. Tobin – a slightly better option is to bookmark the stats page and this seems to allow me to go straight to that page (now stats for Dec 05!) and then navigate to today’s stats.

Other than that, I haven’t found a way around it. Then again I haven’t tried too hard as I don’t check the stats too regularly.

  3. Thanks Tom,

You’re right, that works a treat. But my RSS feed seems to be scoobied by the permalink format too for some reason!?

    It’s a dark art indeed!
