Upcoming.org is the site for managing your upcoming events and Yahoo! has just announced that it has purchased Upcoming.org. One of Upcoming.org’s founders, Andy Baio, adds more here.

This adds to the increasing stable of purchases (Flickr) and innovations which Yahoo! has made recently.

This is a timely purchase by Yahoo! and and will fit in nicely with Yahoo Local and Yahoo 360.

Google must be watching this and wondering how they didn’t buy this first for their customisable Google Homepage.
