BarCamp Dublin on Saturday

BarCamp Dublin is on this Saturday (21st April 2007) in the Digital Hub.

Registration starts at 09:15 with the talks kicking off at 10:00.

There are lots of great speakers lined up to talk on topics as diverse as “Web Usability 101” right through to “Law of Blogs; Blogs of Law”.

I’ll be giving a talk on CIX’s data centre and how we hope to be carbon neutral.

I’m really looking forward to the day. It will be a fantastic opportunity to catch up with lots of old friends, make lots of new ones and hear fantastic talks into the bargain.

Oh, did I mention that entry is free?

See you there.

  1. Looking forward to your talk, in particular after your session at BarCamp in Cork. Making a weekend in the big smoke out of it, with Donegal due to beat Mayo (!) in Croker on Sunday as well. I wonder if there’ll be many people coming to BarCamp from Mayo?

  2. Oops! Sorry. Missed that at the time (too many blogs in my rss feed; too much to do in the real world, not enough time to read online; bad eyesight … take your pick from these or any other similar excuses). Good luck with CIX – I’ll need it when Cearta becomes a huge-traffic site and I emigrate to Cork! 🙂

More seriously, I agree with you in your Yahoo! post that there are better ways to go than offsets; but at least it is a good first step in the right direction.

  3. The dog ate your copy, right Eoin? 😉

Absolutely, I couldn’t agree more. It is great to see Yahoo! having corporate responsibility. It is more than many of their competitors are doing!

Still, even better would be lower carbon footprint using some of the imaginative technologies we are deploying in CIX!

Better yet, they could start hosting in CIX!

  4. Tom,

Didn’t make it down at all this weekend, either for Barcamp or to see Donegal’s fine victory in Croker. I’ll do my best to get down for the weekend of the All Ireland Final though!

Reports are great all round for BarCamp this time again. Great to see the event remaining so strong.

    Damien

  5. Hi Tom

It was nice to meet you (briefly) at the barcamp on Saturday and to find out about your blog and podcast.

    all the best,

    Jennifer

p.s. I was the girl who “minded” you bag for a while!
